Multi-grain Pringles anyone?

An ad for a new product caught my eye recently. It was for multi-grain Pringles. Now, I've got no "chip" on my shoulder about junk food when eaten in prudent moderation (meaning very little), but making the case for justifying junk food by making it "multi-grain" illustrates the problem in the American diet. Magazine and television advertisements would lead you to believe the children's cereal Froot Loops is a health food, if you want to believe that!

The Truth About Thermograms

While mammograms still have a place, breast thermography ushers in true prevention -- and that's no trick

altIt's not like it’s witchcraft...That's what my wife said when we were discussing the value of thermography. With Halloween coming this month, I don't want to stir up a cauldron of controversy or deliver any unwelcome tricks. We'll just stick with the science.

While mammograms still have a place, breast thermography ushers in true prevention. Thermography has a long history of varied useful applications. Firefighters use it so see through smoke to rescue people. The military uses it for surveillance and building contractors use it to discover heat loss in insulation. Being warm-blooded creatures, thermography can digitally "map" the body through the detection of heat patterns.

Cancer Causing Toxins Found in Our Homes!

toxins in our homesAlarmingly, we live in an increasingly toxic world. If you breathe air, eat food, or drink water, toxins are entering your body. These stealth killers go into our bodies, but many of them do not come back out! They literally get stuck in the deep tissues of our bodies in the liver, heart, brain, kidneys, and bones causing diseases of all sorts such as cancer, heart disease and Alzheimer's.

Discouragingly, we are developing newer man-made chemicals by the thousands. These man-made chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides and industrial chemicals are listed by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) as poisons. If you've ever read the dire warning labels on insecticides, weed killers and the like, you'll see how harmful they can be when exposed to humans.

Not being a coincidence, many of these chemicals are carcinogenic. OSHA just last month added numerous new chemicals to their list of carcinogens including toxins we're exposed to daily such as formaldehyde and styrene. (Formaldehyde may be found in household products, disinfectants, glues, adhesion, and building materials including hard-pressed woods such as particle board and plywood. Styrene may be found in boats, tubs, shower, and Styrofoam.) Concomitantly, just as we are seeing an increase in chemical toxins in our environment, we are also seeing a rise in cancer rates.

While Googling women's health topics I came upon the usual quick fixes, miracle creams and over-hyped, questionable treatments, as well as many reputable practitioners. It was there I saw the words “The Hormone Wizard”. It’s a clever name for women seeking answers and relief for the often-mysterious health challenge known as menopause. If you’re seeking your own hormone “wizard” for your symptoms (mood swings, sleeping difficulties, sexual problems, hot flashes, memory loss, weight gain), let the Renewal Point show you how.

It's warm weather time in Florida. We're heading to the beach, lounging by the pool, going on vacation. Also about this time you start seeing ads with a familiar refrain: "It's swimsuit season! Time to get in shape!" And that means for so many women anxiety, frustration, even fear.

alt

As a result of this annual event, some of you may be thinking, "Ugh, I dread putting that suit on," or "Oh no, I look terrible in my bathing suit..." To that you might be also saying, "I'm going on a diet TODAY!"
