Helena Williams is dual-certified as a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. With a comprehensive background in Integrative Medicine and Psychiatry, she collaborates closely with her patients to develop holistic, personalized care plans aimed at achieving optimal quality of life.
Helena's interest for this type of medicine began when she started experiencing hormone imbalances shortly after the birth of her daughter. After talking to a friend, she decided to use Bio-identical Hormone Balancing and Neurotransmitter support to correct the problem. Compelled by the results, Helena made the transition from Emergency Room and Trauma Nursing to began her career in Integrative Medicine, obtaining a diverse range of clinical and research experiences in areas such as Hormone Balancing, Nutritional Therapy, IV therapy, Female Sexual Dysfunction, Gynecology, and Women's Health Issues.
As Helena saw a growing need for catching and getting to the root of NeuroCognitive and Psychiatric Conditions, she dove into the field of Psychiatry. With numerous clinical rotations in Psychiatry (UMass Amherst, USF Byrds, PAR, Centerstone, & private practice psychiatry) she acquired extensive knowledge and experience, further enhancing her growing expertise.
Not only is Helena specialized in screening for conditions such as Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Alzheimer's and Dementia, she is able to take a holistic approach, utilizing different modalities, medications, and referrals when needed. Additionally, with her comprehensive background Integrative Medicine, she has a keen eye to identify whether the underlying cause is related to factors such as hormone imbalances, neuroadrenal dysfunction, or toxin buildup.
Helena received her Masters of Science in Family Practice Nursing from the University of South Florida, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She received her Masters of Science in Psychiatric Nursing from UMass Amherst, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society and continues to stay abreast of updates in nursing through organizational memberships such as the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Florida Nurse Practitioner Network.
